Reece Foundation Inspiring Future Innovators through STEMFest
1st October 2024
We have been confirmed as STEMFest’s latest sponsor! This month, STEMFest 2024 will once again bring together students, educators and industry leaders for an exciting celebration of STEM careers through fun activities and interactive sessions.
The event, hosted over three days, is designed to inspire and engage young minds with hands-on workshops and demonstrations, offering an invaluable opportunity to explore future careers in within STEM industries. The event will be held at The Beacon of Light, Sunderland, 8th-10th October.
STEMFest is not only about sparking curiosity but also about bridging the gap between education and industry. With an estimated attendance of 3,000 students aged 9 to 13, this free event will provide a platform for both local and global businesses to showcase the incredible career opportunities within STEM industries, and bridge the skills gap that we could face in the coming years without initiatives like STEM.
This year, we are proud to announce that the Reece Foundation will be sponsoring the Manufacturing Zone, which will see leading companies hosting exhibitions, such as BAE Systems, British Engines, GSK, Venator and many more.
Our support will help deliver hands-on engagement in a space where students can witness real-world applications of STEM skills and learn more about the vast amounts of job roles within the manufacturing sector and how this plays a part in the local economy.
By sponsoring the Manufacturing Zone, we hope to fuel the aspirations of the next generation of innovators, engineers, scientists and so much more. Our commitment to promoting STEM education aligns perfectly with the goals of STEMFest, where the focus is on giving young people practical insights and experiences that can shape their futures.
Anne Reece, Chair of the Reece Foundation, said:
“We are proud to support such an inspiring event. At the Reece Foundation, we recognise the importance of creating opportunities like STEMFest to nurture the next generation’s talents. By sponsoring the Manufacturing Zone, we aim to inspire young people, open doors to educational and employment opportunities, and contribute to the long-term success of the North East region.”
The involvement of leading businesses like Reece Foundation is integral to making events like STEMFest a success and showcasing the incredible world of STEM careers to students, giving them a chance at a brighter future.
