We are recruiting! New Role Announced to Lead Ouse Burn Way Vision

Imagine contributing to an ambitious partnership aimed at revitalising the Ouse Burn Valley – an area vital to both people and wildlife in Newcastle. In collaboration with Newcastle City Council, North Tyneside Council, the Environment Agency, Northumbrian Water and the Reece Foundation, you could play a pivotal role in transforming this key urban space and delivering the Ouse Burn Way.
In partnership with Newcastle City Council, North Tyneside Council, the Environment Agency, Northumbrian Water, we are proud to announce a unique employment opportunity for a Programme Development Manager to lead the ambitious Ouseburn Corridor regeneration project. This fixed-term role, lasting two years, offers a competitive salary of £47,420 – £51,515 and will be based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The Ouseburn Corridor is a critical natural and recreational resource for thousands of residents and plays an essential role in supporting wildlife in the city. This ambitious initiative, supported by a significant financial commitment from the Reece Foundation, aims to improve both environmental quality and public access to this vital green space. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading the development of an investment programme and an accompanying funding strategy to bring the project vision to life.
As the Programme Development Manager, you will lead the development of an investment programme and funding strategy, building on a strong initial commitment from the Reece Foundation. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for environmental projects and a proven ability to foster partnerships that deliver tangible positive change. You will work within Newcastle City Council and report directly to the Ouse Burn Way Project Board.

Key Responsibilities:

➡ Experience in planning, landscaping, ecology, water resources, and promoting walking and cycling.
➡ Ability to work effectively in partnerships to drive positive environmental change.
